International Earth Day

According to the UN General Assembly, International Earth Day has been celebrated since 1971 and is of ecological nature, with the aim of preventing natural disasters and protecting the ecosystem.

This day was founded by U.S. Senator Gaylord Nelson after an oil spill in the Santa Barbara field in 1969 caused pollution of the ocean and the destruction of aquatic inhabitants. More than 20 million people took part in the celebration of this day.

International Earth Day is one of the largest environmental events in the world, with millions of organizations from 192 countries and millions of volunteers participating each year.
