The mission of Primary Education is to:

  • Help students form a positive attitude to school and learning, and develop their curiosity into inquisitiveness;
  • Contribute to students’ mental, physical, emotional and social development through consistent teaching;
  • Develop reading comprehension and mathematical skills; help students develop independence, self-assessment and a sense of responsibility.

Description of Primary Education:

  • Developing and didactic games are employed in the teaching process;
  • 3-5 minute physical exercises are done 15 minutes after the lesson; active and passive activities are employed in the course of the lesson, e.g., reading assignments are followed by painting or role-play activities;
  • Time is allocated for verbal reflection at the end of the lesson.

Classes for primary students are divided into different areas out of which at least one area is designed for rest and non-academic activities.

Class Counselor:

At school, students have their counselors (one for each class) helping them achieve overall objectives of general education and develop personal, mental and physical skills. Class counselors teach a class to which they are assigned at least one subject.

Special education services include:

  • Giving 1st and 2nd graders compulsory homework;
  • Teaching English from the 1st grade;
  • Teaching Russian from the 3rd grade;
  • Teaching Science from the 4th grade (basics of Natural Sciences in English);
  • Teaching either French or German from the 5th grade (students are provided with the possibility to choose either language).
